Heart to Heart with Kalli
Since her first class in September of 2014, Kalli has become one of Heartcore's strongest athletes. 280 classes later, she shares how Heartcore changed her life. We are so excited to share her story with the entire community. Here's Kalli!
Discovering Heartcore has changed my life.
I was looking for some sort of exercise - I wasn't sure exactly what - that would inspire, challenge, involve nothing that would injure and ....work. Heartcore has done all of that and more. It has opened my eyes not only to what our bodies can do but also to how much strength comes from our mind.
It is "only" a 40 minute class but in that time every part of your body is working - and at times screaming - and often it is only by totally focusing on a hold, or a move, that you keep going, and this focus gives you a belief that your body will hold you and support you,that it won't fail you,and this is exactly what happens. Too often you think "I can't...." but by telling yourself that you can hold on, just that bit longer, somehow you do.
But it doesn't happen overnight.
A couple of classes here or there or an expectation that there will be changes in a month are unrealistic. I've been at Heartcore for 18 months and it has been a gradual change over that time, all of a sudden I noticed a firmer thigh, a flatter stomach and a more defined arm!! Incredible!! Fantastic!!!
Your progress is guided by fantastic instructors who are by your side not only during the class but through your whole journey. They offer suggestions, encouragement, guidance and congratulations, they are there with you from the first class (when you can be wondering what you've gotten yourself into), and they're there when you can finally do something (hold a plank) that you couldn't do not that long ago. I think they believe in you even before you believe in yourself.
Heartcore has helped me realize that I am strong, that I can stand tall and that I can do things I thought weren't possible.
All of this with a commitment to a 40 minute class.
